RE: Tariff Increase - Quadrant Catering - W/C - 4th October 2010

Branches will be aware that Quadrant review the Tariff in April and October each year. We have received correspondence from Royal Mail setting out the increases that are taking place from 4th October 2010.

We have informed the business of our intention to note the increases and a document will be placed before the next available PEC meeting to endorse that principle.

We have also made representation to Royal Mail seeking a meeting to discuss the ongoing increases and in particular the continuation of reviewing the tariff twice a year. We have also requested information regarding the existing financial subsidy that Royal Mail continues to invest in Quadrant Catering.

We will keep branches informed of any further developments in the meantime below are the increases that are due to be implemented w/c 4th October 2010.

i wouldnt mind having that choice,we have a microwave,thats it no gas because someone left it on ,so for everyones safety its turned off.you would moan if its corned beef or cheese and brown every morning

No doubt, managers will be demanding a commensurate or greater increase in basic pay, plus a 20% increase in performance & target achievement payments - and all to cover the cost of a 5p increase in a cup of machine "tea" or "coffee" ( poor loves )

I wouldn't use those machines anyway, buy yourself a jar of coffee/box of teabags and make your own (all you need is a kettle).

40p for coffee out of a vending machine ...7 years ago i remember it only costing 20p. So give it another 21 years and coffee will be £1! While our wages decrease year after year.

make your own or find a local cafe and order in we do in teeside managers do aswell the canteen is to dear and food is s**t and dont get much for your hard earned money

I pizzled myself reading the original post,someone sounds proper p1ssed off.I must admit though 45p for an egg is bad,i can get a dozen free range of a farmer on my rural for £2.20,thats about 19p an egg.SO BOYCOTT THE EGGS,DOWN WITH EGGS I SAY.I must admit though you are lucky we have a toaster and a kettle,ye can't beat toast and and a brew.

You pay for them. I get given proper free range eggs on my rural round, and loads of potatoes, apples, parsnips, beetroot, onions, cabbage, beans, lettuce, etc. etc. and harvest time, around this time of year, we don't need to buy much fruit or veg, and I struggle to carry it all home some days.
