Van Share Test Results

Had 2 'new' geo routed/pegasised duites tested in my office ready for the alleged November roll out.

Rep and one other posties tested 2 routes together with manager driving the van and overseeing proceedings.

1st route - Its had a bit more work added to it under geo route but it came in just under 5 hours hrs with 2 posties working it together. Manager had to dig in towards the end. Georoute says its 3.5 hrs on the nose.

2nd route - 4.5 hours with 2 posties working it, should be 3.5 hours. Manager had to park at a bus stop due to lack of available parking space at one point.

RM response to the tests is if the walks are 4.5 hours then they are 4.5 hours.
Rep has refused to test anymore walks.

My question is, if RM are refusing to alter the walks is there anything they can do to get the duties complete on a daily basis. Bearing in mind that all duties will be larger with more D2D drops and items. Could RM get a part timer to part prep the walks in early morning for example?

Whats to stop RM implementing the revision via EA? No ground work has been done. For exampe no one asked me about my delivery, it was just plotted via computer.
I feel the rep (who is not local) will just agree to this and let it fail, which may be the best approach.

Rule 13,simple,if the duties are not achieveable.
The local rep,well any rep can not agree to it,you know that.

no industrial action agreed with 2010 agreement
but also no ea if they bring anything in via ea they are breaking national agreement thus you would then be able to bring rule 13
you could also ask acas to oversee but dont expect miracles

There is no fixed delivery span anymore, so if it can be done in the time, whatever the span is, it will be difficult to change the thought process behind the the unions agreement to drop the fixed span so that it could be an "enabler". Wonder who came up with that pearl of wisdom.

Well my round was retimed after an office revision on a relatively normal late spring Wednesday, not quiet but not too busy either....

It took Half an hour travelling out ..........5 hours 15 minutes to deliver.......40 minute meal relief.....half hour travelling back......not to mention the IPS and Prep were not timed

I complained that it was too long....so they just took me off IPS in the mornings....and started me later

We're approaching the final phase atm. We've got CDV"S in, walk sequence letter machine. now we're going through a 4hr 30min delivery span. God knows who came up with this. We've got deliveries that are 5hr's now. Looking at the new rounds on paper and i can see trouble ahead with 1hr 30mins added to some deliveries. They are going to be massive. They've taken quite a few deliveries out the office, hard to say how many untill al sections are done. Question is, how can they expect us to complete with adding 1hr/1hr 30mins to deliveries. Five lots of d2d's and not getting out the office until 10.30?

Our revision hasn't started yet.............after reading some of the posts on here I literally can't wait for it to start!!
