It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Vehicle services
We were told 50 vs workshop are to close asap, with the loss of jobs, but there is a large increase in vehicles due to the van share scheme that is being intorduced doesnot make sense to me.

New vehicles are likely to be leased rather than owned hence not RM responsibility for maintenence/repair

Normal leasing plans don't include maintenence or repair (nor servicing, consumables, tax, insurance and petrol).

Heard a rumour, that they wanted to set up regional hubs for major work, with routine servicing carried out on site by mobile mechanics.

Health and Saftey issues there i'd imagine where do they put any hazardous waste produced on site ? wouldn't they require a ' licence ' for every one who operates as mobile mechanic if they carried it back to base ? Doubt if our do has such a licence to store waste of that nature you see it all to often these days in the local rags that firms have been fined for illegal storage etc.. of waste materials covered by regulations
