does anyone know , because i get my wages weekly so I only need to give the post office just 1 weeks notice
with a letter alone the lines of

I mr xxxxxx
pay number xxxx

wish to inform you that i am giving you 1 weeks notice of my resignation


signed xxxx

is this all i need to do


is there anything else I need to know about what processes follow
sorry if i sound naive but after 20 years this has been my only job so have never resigned before

have had enough and will live abroad with my girlfriend

Yes 1 weeks notice is all thats required according to my contract: 14.2

Personally i would only give 1 weeks notice and put in a annual leave week for the same week

Yes my gf has a very god job in south America ,
so will move to her,and for visa reasons I can not work for 4 years so will be a kept man OR until we marry
YES I AM TAKING A CHANCE, but in one way because the job is going downhill now so fast, it helps to make up your mind and get out of the job. that I no longer enjoy.
yes tempting to go for a long sick...but then that just delay`s my plans

I agree....screw the bastards for as much as you can get, use the time to book flights and prepare, then, when ready just go, they'll be paying you for weeks while they try and get hold of you!
