Anyone know how "Family Friendly" will work after revisions?

Ask a question like this or how many DDA duties will there be avaliable for indoor work and you get the err not been decided yet,how many hours will the delivery's be...err don't know yet....what hours will we be working...err don't know yet...what's the duty span going to be 5 days as now or 4 day weeks...err don't know and this s**t Park and Loop is due to start next month in our office what a crock of s**t.

Hi been told in our office family friendly doe's not apply they have to come in line with us or could be moved to a unit where they have them, my thoughts are the union have let them get away with another one.

Tell him he'll have to find a mail centre with vacancies first...that isn't on Royal Mail's hit list...good luck with that one.

Errr, after this atrocious revision is completed, Royal Mail will not be a "family friendly" company, Just an ultra-shyte one.

I've just looked this up on google,basically when you apply for family friendly hours and it is granted,then that means a change of contract.Royal Mail can't just change your hours when there is a revision as you could sue them for breach of contract.I'm assuming that you applied officially and filled in the FF application form.The website that I looked at is called XpertHR.co.uk.

Family friendly policies within RM still apply , the law won't change for RM sake. If you have people starting 1 or 2 hours early (firms deliveries or else)or you have those new walk sequenced machines, you could have a chance to get one of those duties on a family friendly . One of my Lino told me we do what we want, we are not a nursery and if you are not happy, here's the door. so good luck as I think RM don't like those policies at all (from the bottom management, anyway, but, hey, they are ingorant and only beleive in bullying people, so)

Identical at our office. Ask a question and you get nothing back. Whats the point of asking. Every now and then, we get a stupid questionaire about what duty time preference we would like. We fill it in and it comes around again. Dead end answers seem pretty much a national thing now. No one has answers...I have now decided (well a few months back) to fill nothing in that is given to me. I make them wait and ask and ask and ask. That stupid online driving test thing, i completed it (i was marked as unsafe lol) and them got a form to sign. Did anyone read the grey box on the back?. A third party was involved and had full use to your DVLA driving number and had your authority (if you signed it) to ask DVLA to check your licence history. Needless to say i binned it. They are still asking now. My answer to the manager is TELL ME WHAT IM GOING TO BE DOING IN 1 YEARS TIME AND I WILL SIGN YOUR CRAP....end of story

exactly same problem for me,been on 5am family friendly hrs abot 2yrs now...for me to change from 5am to 7am start it would cost me a extra 350quid on top of the 250quid i already pay!!!!! had a 1-to-1 with the guy doing revision and he asked of any probs with new duties..i told him it would cost me another 350 a month of which i cant raise,he said i could still start 5am problem solved....however 2weeks ago(oct 2010) i get called in by him and my manager to say im starting 7am and thats it!!!! no flexibility or any help or ideas.spoke to my union rep who has had numeruous words with the gaffer and he hasnt got back to me even though the new rounds start 15th nov!!!!!!!!!! this is causing me and my wife endless worries.
