Changing Duty Times & Days

Just a quickie for any Union Reps out there , if the DOM wants to change a posties duty from a 7am - 3pm mon-fri to a 6 -2 mon-sat with a rotating day off how much notice is he required to give?

If your contract is Mon - Friday I very much doubt he can do this. I would ring up HR.

I def would not give up a contract which is Mon - Friday without a fight. Check your contract.

It has to be negotiated with the union to be able to change duty times

His contract does not say Mon-Fri , in fact he's only worked these hours since the last revision 18 months ago. Manager seems to agree with Postman and says 28 days is required.

Change of content of duty no notice needs to be given.

Change to start finish times should be 4 weeks notice in writing.

Well being blunt you need to find out, your said "his contract was Mon - friday" ........RM cannot change that without his say so and a new contract.

Executive Action in Royal Mail circumstances is where Management of any level impose a change, operational, contractual, attendance etc, without gaining agreement from the Union, or by withdrawing from an agreement.

On the 4 weeks notice - Hopefully a Rep can answer that but I will research when I can and post if I find solid evidence.
