I know ive asked about the Way Forward policy before, reference resigns.
I was told on here, you do not have to have a resign on your walk, if it is not being altered.
My own walk is not being altered,so I wish to opt out of resign.
I have been employed on a temp 40 hour contract for 28 months, same walk for 36 months and for the previous 8 months on a 30 hour contract.
Nowhere in the Way Forward document can I find any reference that you have to be on a permanent 40 hour contract to opt out.
Do I stiil have the right to opt out of the resign and keep my walk?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: way forward
This walk was advertised on the board but there is no written proof available,as there was a temp manager.
I will also add that I was originally appointed for this duty when I started with RM.
The reason for asking the questions is that Ive been told it doesnt matter what I think as the walk will be put in a resign.
What is my next step ,rep aint got a clue, how do I find address or phone number for regional resourcing manager,I was told to contact him.I am in Suffolk area

Re: way forward
I don't know how the rules relate to contract staff, but even if you were a permanent member of staff who was appointed to a duty on recruitment when a re-sign comes along that duty goes in regardless of there being no change to the duty, that is in "Resourcing Jobs As A Result Of Major Change".Regarding the regional resourcing manager, the PHGs in your office can look it up on the intranet,if you have any problems i can put the number on this board .cityfc wrote:This walk was advertised on the board but there is no written proof available,as there was a temp manager.

Roger, you now say that the duty goes up for resign, there is no change in that duty, and it clearly states if no change you can opt out and keep your duty.
Number would be very much appreciated

Re: way forward
As all walks will be equal and all staff will have to sign out back at the office , I dont see what difference it will make anyway...Unless its a easy duty ....

Re: way forward
I think in your personal circumstances it will boil down to whether you are the rightful duty holder or whether you were simply assigned to the duty on a temporary albeit fairly long term basis.cityfc wrote:Its not easy, but its a rural and I prefer that to town, but thats not what the question was about
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: way forward
Anything that i've said before on this subject relates to permanent staff not contract. The person you need to ask is Dave Stoten REGIONAL RESOURCING MANAGER 01708 77107.As i don't know your office but you gave the area i believe he is the person you need to speak to,if he's not, he will know who is.cityfc wrote:Roger, you now say that the duty goes up for resign, there is no change in that duty, and it clearly states if no change you can opt out and keep your duty.
