"High-Flyers" get the blame...

According to the News on TV, the reason given to Consumer Forcus groups of late/non RM deliveries to North, Mid Wales and Newport, was the "Volcanic Ash Cloud".

Yeah, me and all my mates had trouble getting our £Million private Lear Jets to get to work during that time.
Even my helicopter was grounded for a short while...

If it hadn't been for my chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, I'd never have gottten to work at all!

As far as ACTUAL deliveries to these areas goes, there are a few places that look like "Hell" with dark clouds, volcanic explosions and poisonous gases,
but for North Wales, that could be anywhere !!!

I can tell you, we didn't have any problems delivering in North/Mid Wales due to the ash cloud. 6 inches of snow and minus 6.5 degree weather didn't stop us either.

So where are they getting that rubbish from?!

On the eBay forums, there was someone who'd won an awning dirt cheap. It didn't didn't get sent as the volcanic ash had burnt pinholes in the top..it was in Milton Keynes.

That's a cakewalk, we had over a foot of snow and minus 18C to deal with earlier this winter! (Now waiting for an old-timer from the Scottish Highlands to out-do me... )

Hoi! WE had more than a foot of snow, and because it was (eventually) treated with whindust rather than salt, it sort of set the snow and ruts into a kind of plastic
winter wonderland that took weeks to finally melt, AND our temperatures were way way down, and that's in mid Scotland! And now soon be that time again!

That was after it had settled down. Before that, the truck couldn't get the mail to us over the mountain so we had nothing to deliver. 2 days mail, over 5 hours out on delivery pushing that bloody HCT...

Joking, but it WAS Minus 16 degrees without the windchill.

Van broke down - again - and they sent a lad to get me. We sat in a whiteout for 45 mins.

Mangeress says, "It's all cleared above ?????" so I go out, and it's 3 foot drifts, 5 foot in places, black ice and totally dangerous.
Guy in isolated farm had to dig me out for 20 mins in his drive. Similar thing happened 1/2 later at another isolated farmstead.

Apparently, she was "Told" it was clear, not having left the office herself, of course.
Scouse humour...funny eh? Places she's at now, she'll need a sledge and reindeer later this year, LOL!
