So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Re: Cobwebs
Oh please stop this thread or I am really going to projectile vomit.
I dread to think what anyone on my old round would've thought if they'd seen me shortly after walking into a cobweb.
It's a sort of flailing arms and mini screeching noise type of dance. If there's a spider, it's a sort of OMG I ain't going anywhere near THAT sort of hopping from one foot to the other while I pluck up the courage to break the cobweb and move the spider with the person's mail.
And God help anyone near me if the spider had inadvertently landed anywhere near me or looked as though it might. That would've been nearly following through sort of dance.
There was a huyuuuuge spider than ran from under the sofa I was sat on to under the other sofa last week. It was that big, it had to lift up the other sofa just to get underneath... Of course, I did what any self respecting arachnophobe would've done... I walked out the house to watch the I.S.S. go over and then came back in and went upstairs and pretended it was all a bad dream. Then slept with one eye open.

Re: Cobwebs
I'm serious, I actually felt a bit of sick rising then!
I could never kill one, well, not ones we get over here anyway, but I never want them anywhere near me.

Re: Cobwebs
Everything else I can handle (apart from Daddy Long Legs which, to me, are just spiders with wings). I can cope with worms, beetles, moths etc just not spiders.
It's very interesting that they (and Squid, Snails and Scorpions etc) all have blue blood though because they use Copper instead of Iron to transport the Oxygen around the body.

Re: Cobwebs
Last week I picked up one of my red pouches from under my frame and the biggest spider I've ever seen scuttled out! So I flicked it onto the floor and it ran under the frame behind mine, quickly followed by a high pitched girly squeal from one of the 'biggest, baddest, butchest' posties in the office.I nearly wet myself laughing. Mind you this spider was huge.
On delivery there is not a day goes by, that I'm not spitting out cobwebs or peeling them off my face. It's really annoying especially if you haven't shaved.

My sentiments exactly!!pinstripe wrote: On delivery there is not a day goes by, that I'm not spitting out cobwebs or peeling them off my face. It's really annoying especially if you haven't shaved.
I remember, as a youngster, there were trailers for Arachnophobia on TV. There was one clip with a guy sitting on a toilet and a spider crawling around the bowl/pan/whatever it's called at the back.
I checked the toilet for YEARS after that!
Worse than being told as a kid that if you didn't check the toilet first, Jaws would come up and bite your bum...
It's surprising I've grown up to be a normal person after all the stories I was told and believed as a kid...
