Wages, Earnings, Pie and Mash over the years

I was having a right good clear out of my old wage slips and in 2003 I was earning more money baring in mind the basic has gone up £100, not a rant as such but got me thinking how I've made ends meet over the years now!!

12-13 years ago I worked Friday nights for £11 ish an hour (double time + Sat premium), now you get £9-odd. OT then was well worth doing.

Now I do absolutely none cos it's not worth it, so I earn around the same per annum now as I was earning 6-7 years ago. We actually used to get bonuses as well, apart from the shares crap I haven't had a bonus in years.

My basic wage now, no overtime, is the same as I was earning FULL TIME at a call centre in a big city in 2002, working shifts anytime between 5:30am and 9pm, Sundays, Bank Holidays, Christmas Day etc.

Just looked at my P45s. In 1997/98 and 1999/2000 I earned roughly the same amount as I did in 2009/10.
I earned more in 2001/02 than I did in 2009/10.
My earnings fell by between £1-2,000 pa in 2002/03, 2003/04, and 2004/05 - after the Way Forward.

worst paid job for the strain your under -

part time job = full time job 9 - 2/3 by the time ur home its 4 and with no breaks its basicaly a 9 - 5 for 150 quid a week

Yes hourly rate seems good but take off not many breaks and working your balls off it does make you wonder.

You get paid for your breaks, why would you not take them?! You're entitled to them, you get paid, you take em!

wonder ? i allready know this job is probably one of the worst jobs going OBVIOUSLY there are seriously bad jobs about pay wise and conditions wise

but theres nothing like carrying a bag abotu that u KNOW is doing u long term damage and atleast other jobs when its 9-2 it means 9-2 not a minute longer!
