Hi,
I and 5 other colleagues are professional drivers but we also have to do a delivery as part of our duty structure, when the new payments were approaching I asked Management and CWU as pro drivers would we get the same as other delivery officers, management didn't have a clue (no surprise there then) CWU said yes BUT when it came no we didn't get the £20.60, yet we have to deliver d2ds we were at first going to refuse to deliver them but advised by CWU to deliver them while they sort it out. Last week I heard that HR will not pay us, yet in the agreement it says ALL those attached to a delivery office will get paid the d2d money. Yes I know we get extra money for Pro drivers but there are reasons for this and before the agreement we used to get paid the d2d money. The night shift who don't even see a d2d get the money but we don't who deliver between 300 to 400 d2ds. Local CWU have recommended we continue to deliver them for free until the new duty structures come in next May. Are we alone in this?

Simon your unit is not alone on this issue as there are machine operators within delivery offices as well as pro drivers not in reciept of this payment of £20.60.simonwien wrote:Hi,

Area CWU representatives have informed that Royal Mail do recognise that there has been an oversight to this issue and currently are in the process of decussion, with the protential of back payment.
May I ask where you heard that HR will not pay? as this maybe the case due to the fact that nothing has been finalised yet.

I'm in a similar position, I'm on MTSF but still receive the professional driver's pay and now on delivery and I have not received this extra £20.60, I queried this nobody has a real definite answer, hope this get sorted as I am still delivering D2Ds and not getting any extra for it

Forget about DTD its neither here nor there if you deliver DTD in relation to the £20.60. There is no DTD payment.
The 20.60 is a suplement for those working in or tagged to a D.O, it covers all jobs not just those that deliver DTD.
There are no exceptions mentioned in 2010 so if you are tagged to or working in a D.O you should get, especially as you are doing delivery office work.
All you can do is to look back at the LTBs on this matter and wait for further ones to be released so as to keep yourself up to date with whats happening.

We work in a delivery unit doing collections but are tagged to deliveries. Hope the appeal process will resolve issues as i believe we should get the £20.60 beacause we workk in a delivery unit and under the delivery manager not distribution. Seems like ages ago since this was flagged up and no answers either way yet. At least if we are due the monies then it is backdated maybe in time for christhmas lol.

in reply to big daz, I used to be a 600 driver based in a delivery office, then when that got withdrawn I retained my allowance for 3 years as per MTSF, I am now doing deliveries but is NOT getting the 20.60 yet I am doing the saem work as the man next to me who is getting the extra payment.
I have queried this as was mentioned earlier, my status as were others in this thread is ambiguous, I don't think its fair and we should have this extra 20.60 for doing the same work as a Delivery postie.
I was given the impression that everybody in a delivery unit is getting this payment, had many of us known now how it would have turned out, I think the agreement would have got voted out.

Hi all keep fighting for it i to was a 600 driver but was taken of due to relocation of 600`s because i still recieved the allowance we were not paid it( reason been still classed as a 600 driver) i am pleased to say we now get the d2d supplement... simple if you deliver you are entitled to it.

A professional driver is any Royal Mail driver who drives a vehicle 7.5 tonnes or above. You don't need to check your mirrors, keep to the speed limit, clean your vehicle or lick arses to get it.
