I walk away away and then tell the DOM about it. I ask him to write them a letter saying if they have any issues they should contact him and not shout at me on the street.

It works. Although they don't usually bother contacting him.

yeah i parked outside this womans house the other day. delivered a packet and came within 30 seconds and the woman was waiting their for me at my van point her finger at me. when i got within 5 metres she said 'who do you think you f***ing are parking outside my f***ing house i f***ing hate it when ppl thinking they can f***ing do that, what have you got to say for yourself?' at this point i was laughin my head off and said nothing and got in my van. ' oi dont fuckni ignore me, your not a f***ing cowboy your a fuckni postman for royal mail so fuckni act like it cause its unprofessional'. i got out the van and told her i can park where i want, i pay road tax and you don't own the road.' she went on 'right...im going to your office right now, ill get your name, and ill report you and get you sacked, still laughing?'. i said, ' my name is ......., here is the address for the office want me to drive you their?'. she just let out a small scream and walked off. in the many years of service thats the only time someone has been like that to me and i just cant understand that people have nothing better in their pathetic lives other than to constantly whine.

As if the customers are bothered about the correct terminology?! When I've corrected them after they've called me postMAN, they've simply replied, "well it's all the same thing!".

Erm, no, I think you'll find that we have different anatomy and that, therefore distinguishes us, as it does you!

Perhaps they should just bring out a clone army of androgynous delivery workers to keep them happy.

Many years ago there was a couple on my walk with a cross staff ,if it was ever out in the front when it saw me it would go berserk foaming at the mouth.

So one day the owner was present and passed comment on her dog going mad at me but didn't bother restraining it,so I passed my comment and said it was a cross staff which she took major offence to. Next minute hubby comes out the front door storming down the path so i wiped me bag off my back (not the best move I know but I was a lot younger then) and stood my ground just as he was climbing over his gate his wife starts screaming at him not do anything and he backed off. Picked my bag up and went on my merry way just because your in uniform the G/P think they can treat you like shite.

If a similar incident happened again I would still stand my ground but I would leave my bag on my back to cushion the fall.

Are you crazy?! You might damage the free light bulbs...

Seriously, I wouldn't like to land on some of the stuff that's in the bags. Bad enough it digging into your hip while you're walking. (And the bag, yes I know! fnar fnar!)
