What do you think will come from the strikes?

What do you honestly think the union can secure for us: a better pay rise; no changes; more jobs; easier work; more hours ?

What would you be satisfied with?

who know's what will happen.
what i am sure of is that i am satisfied that i and my mates stood against this tyrany and that solidarity is worth more.
The system is hard to beat but we must make a stand and not let these arrogant people antogonise us.
If we sat back and let them do what they wanted (SDD) it would have been the worst!!
Im satisfied----- that we have stood together against this.

Well to have the CWU able to negotiate on our behalf would be a start.
And I would hope for a wage rise that would enable me to keep up with the cost of living at least.
With all this wonderful new machinery that RM are going to replace us with, I would expect a reduction in the working week - and I don't mean reducing ftc's to pt, but a 35 hour ftc without reduction in pay. And better Annual Leave.
And there should be improve VR/EVR terms for anyone who wants to leave.
And an improved pension would be good.

been to union meeting today and it looks like tuc and acas are acting as mediators to get royal mail to the negiotaing table as our strike action is hitting them harder then they expected that comment was from a nec member whos name i forgot anglia guy nice bloke talked a lot of sense

and meeting tomorrow to discuss future action and it look like further rolling action as its been more successfull than even the HQ expected

it doesn't look like management are gonna back down... if the union can negotiate talks about the conditions that are with the pay rise, maybe it would be our best bet.
if the union back down now.. their strength for negotiatons is finished

:lfo and :cfo are both sell-outs!!!!! They really are a pair of overpaid puppets. I feel that they are just doing what they have been told to by the government. What business-owner is going to give their chairman and ceo a whole stash of Â£Â£Â£ without telling them how and what they want it spent on and putting forward their business plan? The fact that the government has not stepped in speaks volumes to me - aren't they the ones pulling the strings?

I think that either nothing will come of the strike or the government will "stand in" and tell :lfo and :cfo to "bring things under control". The "humiliation" would be painless for them with all the Â£Â£Â£ they have in the bank.

Maybe there will be a backing-down on some of the strings - only for them to be implimented by stealth at a later date? Team-working, for example has already been implimented, to a point. In years gone by, if a collegue was absent his duty was covered on overtime. In my office, the duty is now lapsed and we have to cover for that collegue for no extra pay - it was not like this before and we would always get overtime - not any more. Our line manager just get's a nice fat bonus for "saving" hours!

Nevertheless, we have to remain strong and put up a good fight. The general public are supporting us more than we think. They are just as fed up as we are!

GB and the rest of this fascist government can suck my (you know whats). All they want is the few pound from the sell off of RM (I'm too angry to articulate this properly).

I do hpoe the union can secure us a better future but even the union must realise that there will be redundencies with all this modernisation.But let's hope that the number going will be much much less than what RM want. It should be strike breakers out first as they have effectivley agreed to all these changes by crossing the line. Our union still needs all the support it can muster ,but let's hope the damage will be minimal.

There has to be a pay rise, I guess over 3%

The major changes for walkers will be dropped for now - small team work, D2D's etc.

Later starts will happen and night shifts will be phased out where possible.

That is my guess anyway.

IMPROVED D2D PAYMENTS.

NO MORE STRINGS, EVER!

MANAGERS GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS THE SAME LEVEL OF SERVICE WE POSTIES GIVE THEM (IMPOSSIBLE THIS ONE!).

AND MOST OF ALL - SACK :cfo :lfo NOW!!!!!

I'd be happy if everything went back to the status quo, and negotiation's start from there, as to future changes in our contracts.
