Lying to the customer!

Post by bunkerland »

You're on your delivery, having cut off the previous day, customers at the end of your delivery remark that they "didn't get any mail yesterday",so you explain why! They phone your manager to complain and he gives you a bollocking and tells you to use your common sense! :left:

So what is the correct protocol?
:hmmmm

My manager won't be specific about what "common sense" means, so he's no help!
Now i'm not good at lieing(not even sure how you spell it,is it lieing or lying?) I start to sweat,my eyes shift sideways and i look down at my shoes. My customers will smell a rat for sure

Maybees i pretend i is foreign and i know understandi them,nah,.....they know me so that won't work! I got an idea from Blackadder the other night, but would they believe that a giant hummingbird had swooped down and stolen their mail? In any case it still comes down to me lieing again doesn't it!

Perhaps Royal Mail could incorporate some tips on lieing to it's customers into it's training courses! ;liar I just don't know what to do any more, any advice?

:funneh
he gives you a bollocking
I'd love for that to happen to me. :evil/mad

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If they ask why they got no mail yesterday, you just tell them it is because no-one likes them.
That wouldn't be lying, it would be being economical with the truth.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

you must under no circumstances tell the truth about money saving techniques

And don't accept any crap from the customer if they expect you to work beyond your time....if they challenge you ( unlikely ), ask them back if they'd like to work 30+ mins past their time, EVERY day, irrespective of any other commitments ( family, health, etc), and the failiure of their supervisor to cover your duty so you can honour those commitments? If they work or are on benefits, they should understand & if they don't, f*ck 'em, tey don't care about anyone but themselves.
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Ive been in this situation. Ive simply said that i had run out of time and my manager should have been sending someone out to finish up on overtime. Iam really sorry etc and if you want to take it further then please phone the office and speak my manager. This normally works as iam sorry which is in fact true as i dont want to let them down.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

what i do is blame the full timers for everything..

"im just part time , the full timers make all the mistakes such as missorts as i just pick up the mail... there really mean to me and if im late it means they didnt throw in my walk which is why i have to cut off which is one hour earlier than a full timer gets paid up until as we are just expected to claim overtime instead which i dont want to do , here is the number for the office u can hav a chat with sumone there "

Then they jsut feel sorry for me and i get off ;)
