If Royal Mail go back say 15 years ago and use their policy, hours and methods and walk route (updated to make allowance for changing as new home get build and old one get knocked down). Could it work today ? As there is a massive increase of junk mail.

What the different between say 1995 and 2010 apart from

increasing junk mail, packets, USO
loss of night shift.

I was working in Leicester Square, Oasis were good and my local was great boozer.
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

well, some 2nd deliveries were still happening. And less d2d but lots more 1st class, lots less dsa, in fact one has replaced the other.

:sad: 15 years ago ,and R/M was a good place to work for. Funnily enough, I can see the day coming when there is a return to two deliveries.

1995 Been at RM 2 years by then.Jaysus a hell of a lots changed since then.I used to take one bag out and have one dropped off that was it.And we used to make £400 mil profit every year.

You actually had managers that would back you up, understood the job & didn't slope off for a coffee & a fag, before sniping in a bid on ebay for golf clubs

I'd just escaped McDonald's, and gone into warehousing ( stuck in that industry for 5 years, didn't gain any skills ), always skint, no social life & no sex life ( the industry has changed, but bugger all else has )
