What are the rural duty holders like in your office? In mine he is the laziest b@stard employed bY RM and what really pisses me off is everyone including management know it but won't do anything about it. As I have said it "REALLY PISSES ME OFF"

in my office the rural drivers have to do the longest rounds we all go out the office at the same time but now all the town rounds get back hour befor us. we have to leave mail out just to get back most days

The slowest on IPS, less than 200 calls but still takes longer to sort in than walks of 600+ & 700+ duties, last on out the office, floater finishes two to three hours earlier when covering his duty. I kid you not he is "ONE LAZY, IDLE USELESS B@STARD"

Same here. In my office the van rounds take an hour longer than the cycle ones but nothing's ever done to even them out and those with the bikes moan the most.

They do the longest walks, they even do ips, and work far later than town deliveries.
I am glad I dont drive.
They get my respect.

Our office, rurals are 4.5 hours plus. Most are 5 hours.

Rurals in my office have the longest duties (from 5 hours to over 6) whilst the towns can finish long before their time, I've done both...........2 hour duties that was 2 weeks that I'll never forget

Our 3 rurals don't do ips and get off when they are ready and come in an hour after most of us.
They finish around the same time as us(so made an hour there)but only cos they are stretching things out.If they wanted they could easily make 2 hours a day.

Another difference with rurals is that the vast majority of houses out in the country get post every day, whereas in towns, and in village housing estates, you can expect to skip a fair proportion of houses especially earlier in the week.

not forgetting if you do the job properly no mail in the front of the van etc then rurals can be nigh on impossible to complete on time cut corners speed run leaping fences hand brake turns on gravel tracks etc then time can be made

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over him,he sounds like he'll probably move on to management soon!

ours are out before the townies,but have lapsing to do before starting their own duty,always back after the townies,factor in stupid tracker system in the vans...........no thanks,i'll take the wind,rain,snow,sun,w@nkers stopping me every 5 mins,dogs after eating me wobbly bits,etc.
