30 hour contract + 10 hours s/a

I for the last 15 months been working on my normal 30 hour contract but also get 2 hours per day S/A,This is a van share and the workload is 8 hours,(more usually)

Now what does piss me off is holidays and sick leave we all recieve 30 hours pay,The office simply cannot cope if we all do 30 hours,The jobs we do are 8.

Seems to me they will do this forever,Saves paying us 40 hours for 5 weeks a year,Not to mention whatever sick leave,Oh and we only get £15.45 delivery suppliment.

The 1 hour contact was ruled to be a farce as the guy simply worked more every week,We can prove we cant do our job in less than 40,So i wonder if the union should be pushing and telling them to do the right thing and give us 40 hour contracts?

I took this up with HR. Their reply was as ALL overtime was voluntary they only had to pay 30 hrs holiday pay, even though ACAS says it should be the average of the previous 12 weeks!

I really dont see how they would have an argument,People are working their contracted hours,Nobody is doing less,Just saying no thanks to the 2 hours s/a.
Royal mail simply cannot have it both ways,They dont want us to have the extra money by giving us all 40 hour contacts,But apparantly are entitled to go down the road of unofficial strike action if we refuse to do extra than our 30 hours? It would be laughed at by a Judge.
