extra vans at christmas

heard in our office today that we will not be allowed any extra/hire vans to help with the christmas packet rush this year. we usually have an extra 2 vans and drivers to help out the regular drivers in the 'pressure' weeks but we heard today we will not be allowed them this year. the story being bandied about is that when the regular duty has been done someone else will take the van and do some more later on in the afternoon/evening! anyone else heard this or can confirm/deny it?

I didn't think RM planned that far ahead.................in my office it's lucky if the next weeks is planned let alone months away.
