Attached some traffic info from RM ( South West )

Quite informative on mail volumes Vs Model week, packets, and D2D ect !

I was going download it but Packets down, who are the kidding, packets are on the increase. But maybe their projected packets figure is down. Instead of a 20% increase maybe its only 10%, so infact it is a 10% down. This applies to all letters, large letters and rm employees. Not managers though, managers increase.

One of the reasons for last years spike in packet traffic was.....illuminating.

At our weekly resourse uummm sorry ...strategic involvment meetings, I, as IR rep challenge the figures of mail from MC coming into the office..(the line manager even queries it) someone must hijack the lorry from MC to us and put more mail in there. Mail is down...so we abosrb till ''they'' say its gone up,,,we are booking o/t, borrowing delivery personel from nearby offices and having DOM and Line Manager going out on delivery of walks cut off, but hey we are absorbing baby. Works well huh ......beggers belief.

just the same at macclesfield !!! thought it was only us !! not enough people to sort the mail, all throwing up walks. managers dropping off bags, sorting, missorts, walks and "lapsing " which has not been done. only in the crazy world of royal mail. union rep asks to see the traffic figures regarding lapsing. told there is not enough mail at the moment!!! last friday ips 6am till 9am!!!! today on while 8am on a 7.5 hour day. but your mail is sequenced is the answer to all questions. they even tried to blame the late arrival of a van for the extended ips and we had not been anywhere near clearing what was already in front of us!!!! nearly everyone booking just to do lapsing

Didn't we have an election earlier this year which led to rather a lot of mail !! Doesn't seem to be reflected in these figures
