Delivery Planners Salary...

Does anyone know what the starting wage is for a delivery/collections planner?

If you were in this job, would you be paid weekly or monthly and what is classed as DM4?

Do they actually exist because the ones I've seen are failed managers (yes there are worse ones then the ones that remain in the job )

I think the rate is much lower, that was the rate for selling your soul, our lot would do it for free (and in some cases would pay for it themselves).

your not honestly saying linos actually get paid for what they do
is it performance related as to how many cuppas they can throw back

so it must be to do with bonuses and targets and with all those saved hours whats in it for us.never mind the planners wages hows this one i asked last week
how much of a bonus are mgmt on , doms linos etc if all agreed changes implemented on sept 10th

In our area (and I assume it's the same everywhere else) the delivery planners are grade MS4.

Most line managers are grade ML4, so the salary is very similar, expect something along the lines of £25-28K (lino salary), but a fraction less as the planners have no line management responsibility to their jobs.

And as it's a managerial grade it's monthly pay.

well for a start managers should not be doing any opg work unless there is an "operational emergency" so politely infom you lino that the work he/she is doing should be done by an opg.

We had a problem with managers doing opg work,when challenged they said "you show us where it says managers can't do opg work" we couldn't find it in any aggrement.

I think but i'm not too sure of this that they received instructions in the form of a letter from senior RM management that they were not to perform OPG work.
It's a false economy to have a guy on around £30K a year sorting mail.
I'll see if i can dig something up.

BTW a good way to combat this is to get your rep to constantly flag up the fact to the MCM that his managers appear to have a great deal of spare capacity in their working day to do OPG work and perhaps a review of managers is overdue....make them sweat a bit for a change.

They just hide in the office now. Best place for them, cuts down the odds of them causing chaos.

Problem is little managers are told to save save save yet told at the same time by the same higher ups they cant do OPG work.

In my D.O they put the mail out onto the IPS frames and tidy the D.O up by picking up empty packet bags and mail trays from the prep frames.

Although this may stop soon as managers in my patch are not allowed overtime and DOMs are not allowed to accumlate any more time off by working over.

The senior managers are expecting the impossible from there lower downs and if I was a lower down I would be pushing my CMA rep hard to tackle senior managers nonsense of no overtime no days back and do a revision without release.
