It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Although at a guess if the surgery is for medical reasons, such as breast reduction with GP/Specialist backing, then you would have a good chance. But if for cosmetic reasons I would say no.
I knew a woman in the RAF who had breast reduction for medical reasons which is why I suggested that, but any surgery for medical reasons should be covered by sick leave.
Cosmetic surgery though I think you would have to give up annual leave or try for Special unpaid.
However contact Linda Roy she will have more idea than me.
