Collection revsion and hybrid duties

We are doing a collection revision some work gone from full time duties. So looking at hybrids to maintain full time jobs ok with that. One problem is we are Monday to Friday at the moment ( yes we are lucky) So have a few issues with the Saturday rounds and believe deliveries could cover them to make things easier. Also seen on a government website the paragraph below.
:nana Weekly rest - the 'weekend'
If you are an adult worker you have the right to either:
• an uninterrupted 24 hours clear of work each week
• an uninterrupted 48 hours clear each fortnight
So i believe if you worked till say 13:30 on a Saturday then every second week you could say i will not be in until 13:30 on Monday only leaving about 1:45 hrs to do a walk on Monday . Also if they had a day off then they could only do four days on a full walk. Then if they wanted the one in four Saturday off makes it unworkable. Hopefully they will go for the Monday to Friday option, staff are not up for change so going to cause arguments . Any views or experiences on this would be appreciated.

The two options for rest are either/or, not both.

The 48hrs per fortnight assumes that you have not had a day off earlier in that fortnight.
As long as you are not working Sundays, you will always have had well over 24hrs every week from finishing on Saturday to coming back in on Monday, so the fortnightly 48hrs is never going to be an issue.

End result got them Monday to Friday duties. The Delivery unit have to do the Saturdays, bet they are not happy with that ! Seems they are desperate to save cash and faced with a dissagrement dragging on for weeks delaying the revsion implmention or giving some ground, then we got a small result.
