get yourself jog tracker for free from the app store

tracks your time and route when on your walk
this is mapped on your phone in real time
so today after the DIM insisted i had time to do a red bag of lapsing :arrrghhh and the walk
i now have hard proof of the time i started myactual delivery, route taken and the point/time i cut off
i'll be in the office tomorrow for the bag of mail i returned
i started the timer before i delivered my first letter(after lapsing) and had a whopping 2.5 hours on the street for a full delivery

i think you are supposed to tell the gaffer(s) before you leave the DO - that you won't be able to complete...or you won't manage to deliver all your mail within you're duty time and that you won't be able to do overtime !

did you do that?

Well they are very interesting applications, lets see Run Tracker, Jog Tracker is there a Walk tracker I wonder for normal people who, well, just walk? Mind you I don't know that I'm in favour of these timing applications for obvious reasons - I mean would you like your missus having something like that :hmmmm

did you do that?

I spoke to the manager before leaving
I had never done the lapsing before in that area and its a new walk to me (done it once before)
I asked him if i was going to have time while i was waiting for the acceleration driver to tie up etc
I was informed i was on a "piss easy walk"
I informed the lino that was his opinion and that i wouldnt be working over my time

so he knew what was going on(driver also told him he wouldnt be able to complete if lapsing)
i then phoned the DO just before one as i cut to catch my last SD before 1pm
to the usual grief on the phone, you took it out so must deliver it,what time did you finish Tuesday etc

the tracking data shows i started delivery of the walk just before 11am
yet im supposed to complete the duty in that time
i had one bag left
probably 5 bundles IIRC.all main doors
so without lapsing i would have completed
