They have sacked posties for getting involved in football violence, though I believe they won their tribunal. Also RM workers are a reportable occupation which means the Police can make RM aware you were convicted of an offence. However, I do not know if they can inform them when you are arrested and charged.thebigone wrote:just need some advice im a active member of the edl as you might be aware there is a static get together on saturday, march been banned but cant stop static get together.Things could get out of hand on this one, just wondering could royalmail sack a employe if happen to get arrested, knowing what the old bill are like they arrest you for freedom of speech?not planning to get lifted.edl
BTW if it gets tasty be careful as some on the counter demo will be CWU members. I know some who are going.

They've been known to sack people for less so it would be best to avoid any confrontation (better not to go at all).

Even a police caution or warning is notifiable TBT.
8.1. Where a person holds a professional occupation which is deemed to be notifiable under the guidelines provided in Home Office Circular 6/2006, and that person is either convicted or cautioned, or receives a reprimand, warning or final warning for an offence, the Disclosure Team will receive details via a PNC print and will be responsible for the disclosure of that conviction / caution / reprimand / warning / final warning to the relevant authority.

Nothing to do with 'free speech' but a certain degree of racism, anyway, there is no such thing as free speech in the UK.woofwoof wrote:freedom of speech and all that you go kid if thats what you want to doDGP1 wrote:They've been known to sack people for less so it would be best to avoid any confrontation (better not to go at all).

Even the title of the thread is wrong then isn't it.
But then accuracy isn't to be expected from the BNP or whatever it decides to call itself on Saturday.

If the CWU officially support the counter demo and you have a problem with that you could always exercise your fundamental right...and leave the union.woofwoof wrote:BTW if it gets tasty be careful as some on the counter demo will be CWU members
