Walk sequencing for Glasgow

Does anyone have any information on when the Glasgow delivery offices will start receiving walk sequenced mail.

We get no information from CWU, no local rep, can't get hold of area rep, and management know nothing.

If anyone has any idea what is going on, I'd be grateful if they would let us know.

gmc is not due WSM until August next year but that could change in an hour....although ILSM will WS for a certain amount

GMC has ten (10) LSMs and one ILSM all doing walk sorting at the moment and struggle most mornings to get the mail out the door on time wether this is down to lack of staff or poor work plan is open to question or maybe RM just got the change in the NETWORK timings wrong (do you think they will admit they get anything wrong) only speculation at GMC as to when walk sequencing will begin but as"govenor " says don' hold your breath

Does that have any bearing on when they will get a 'delivery methods revision' or is that not dependent on receiving walk-sequenced mail?

The Delivery Methods Revision and the Walk Sequencing are separate.
But the £600 comes with the Walk sequencing revision.

Apparently we're almost there. we've already got cdv's and walk sequencing. Duty revision is happening now, and we were told that the £600 will be released when the office revision is done including new working week, indoor working tool, outdoor working.

tbh the thing that pisses me off is the walk speed being used of 6.22kph vs 4kph previous. I just feel the new georoute is more accurate and would add rounds, so they just tweaked the walk speed figures. Plus they said they're pretty certain no more rounds will go in after revision, so if they're that sure without even doing it then it's gotta be budget driven.
I thought the pay and modernisation agreement was for a fair workload not based on budget?

what is the agreement on walk speed surely 50yr old could not sustain 6km/hr whereas maybe 20yr old could cmon union what speed should georoute or the winged horse be set at

Where are you getting that speed from?

There are various walking speeds depending on what equipment you are using and what terrain you are on

For flat walking 5.95km 3.69mph( it used to be 6.44 )4mph

With an HCT 5.53 3.43mph

With a light weight trolley 5.59 3.47mph

Moving a cycle between delivery ponts 5.95 3.69mph

For HCT undulating 4.90 3.04mph
For HCT steep 5.19 3.22mph

Cycle 13.24 8.22mph

light weight trolley undualting 5.72 3.55mph
Light weight trolley steep 5.76 3.57mph
