hi i know this may sound silly but if i apply for evr and its granted, and i get offerred another job am i allowed to take it will it reduce my evr or is it right royal mail can make me miss my job offer by making me work till release date getting confused over conflicting advice Can anyone advise where i can find evr regs cheers

Many years ago when I was at college learning about employment law 
we were told that redundancy payments wouldn't be paid if you left at anytime before your due date if you left but that it would be better to leave and take the new job because it's better in the long term. So, I can't see RM paying anything if you left before your payment takes effect.

Starting a new job before your notice has expired
If your new job starts before your redundancy notice expires, try to negotiate with your employer for early release without losing your redundancy pay. Employers are often happy to make these arrangements.
If your employer doesn't agree to let you go early you should give them 'a written counter notice' stating when you would like to finish. Your employer should write back to you and say whether or not you can leave early.
If you leave early without your employer's permission you run the risk of losing some or all of your redundancy pay. Normally this only becomes an issue if your employer has given you a longer redundancy notice period than the statutory minimum.

you can ask for evr, i have, ive also asked for a buy down, but human resources say, No, they wont give you money to leave, theyll say whay dont you just leave!
as for buyin down, theyll only let you do this if the business is looking to cut hours and they have no temps to let go.
Ive heard my do is looking to let go 27 folk in the next few months after this revision, and its the 21 temp contracts and 4 folk from other offices who cover here who are going, we may get 1 or 2 evrs, but dozens want it.
