i just kind of stand there thinking WTF - who prepped this walk i ask - oh that was blah - he left half an hour ago

then i end up with loads of missorts bcos whoever it was didnt give a s**t .

Every single day it's like this!! This week was a classic though, bulk mailing on Saturday we were given 2 days for. I took everywhere I was already going leaving full timer a reasonable amount for Monday. I of course am covering another round Monday where full timer hadn't touched them. Spoke to dom who said we all knew it was over 2 days so I had to take the lot :( needless to say I will be claiming over for it but it is incredibly unfair. I feel like the lowest of the low because I'm part time and quite honestly I have a different job to the full timers :(

It's worse when you're having your bags taken out. You come in at 8.50am, the bag man leaves at 9.20am, yet you've got an hour's worth of prep left because they couldn't find anyone to do it/the guy who was doing it made a hash of it. The math doesn't work out very pleasantly.

they are quick to do a clear frame check before you leave ..why are they not doing a prepped frame check aswell ??

bollox - you hav a driver waiting on u and sumtimes 2 or 3 others = stress

thast the thing that gets u is the full timers are plodding along no pressure but we are FLAT OUT trying to get anywhere near out the door an hour after they have left bcos of the shite theve left for us

EVEN THO THEY ARE PAID UNTIL 2 AND WE ARE PAID UNTIL 1

YET THEY ARE FINISHED FOR 12 ! BCOS THEY LEAVE SO EARLY AND WE ARE FINSISHED MORE LIKE 2! BCOS OF THEM FORCING US OUT LATE!

I am a driver and never pressurize any part timers as it is not their fault the walk isn't thrown in. I take it to the dom and tell him to get someone to take out the walkman and his bags as if I have to come back (10 mile round trip) it would take me over my time. More often than not the dom has to take them out. Send your driver to the dom, it is not your fault the walk isn't thrown in.

I think most people when they go to work just want to do the job they are paid for and go home.
If you are paid to go to the DO pick up a bag and go out on delivery I don't think you should have to prep, do dead letters and redirections before tying down.
The p/t staff obviously feel let down by their f/t "colleagues" and in some cases they have good reason to. Some don't give a s**t.
I personally wouldn't want the stress of knowing I was going to fail my duty every day and having to claim o/t or cut off.
A few years back no-one left the DO until everyone was ready to leave.One unified dispatch time with proper conveyance for all. Still sounds like a good idea to me.

The job you are paid for CCR is non-specific.
No one has a contract that states "go to the DO pick up a bag and go out on delivery"....even the so-called "bag carrier".
If a full-timer is asked to prep another duty inside their contracted hours why can't a part-timer be asked to prep theirs.
If they are being bullied into working past their time that is a different argument but not relevant to my post.

If your contracted hours do not allow for any indoor work then the second you start having to prep etc you are having to make decisions.
Do you cut off? Do you extend? Do you run round to finish on time? Do you use your car? Or do you just accept the situation and do some unpaid o/t?
That is stress the minute you walk in the door, and it is stress a f/t colleague isn't under.
It isn't a fair and achievable workload.
And I can understand the complaints of a p/timer who sees the f/timer skipping out the door having left a load of s**t behind.
