SEEN IT MENTIONED ON A THREAD AND THEN IT CROSSED MY MIND, IF THE CREWS DID WALK AND THEN SOME MORNING WHEN WE ALL TURNED UP FOR WORK THE SCREWS HAD A PICKET LINE ON. WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?. CROSS IT OR BECAUSE WE ARE ALL GOOD UNION MEMBERS REFUSE TO BREAK THE LINE HMMMMMMMMM ITS A HARD ONE

don't think i'd cross it. i feel a lot of managers probably quietly agree with what we're doing. they are just to scared of senior management to openly admit it.

if they were taking IA for a issue which didnt affect me i would take great pleasure walking thru there line

i would ask a scab manager can i do the DUMs job then make myself a cup of tea and start reading the paper

I wouldn't mind crossing their picket line and doing their job, but, I'd get bored after half an hour of farting about pushing Yorks up and down the landing and shouting "Ask Stu if 53 is covered" from the office doorway in a very loud voice and saying "Right Steve, yes, yes! I'll get someone on it!" down the phone.

I would gladley cross the line they care nothing for the staff at our office. Today one guy told them he had a funeral to go to as his Granma had passed away, so therefore he would not be able to cover his dockett, the Dum told him that he was commited to the dockett and had to do it . This was a typical attitude of the Dum's in our place. So as you can see no way would I support them in any way what so ever. Oh the guy did not do his dockett and to add insult to injury he also cut off.

I'd tell them that they need to modernise, are 25% overpaid and 40% underworked. That their strike would achieve nothing and that their crossword and coffee (work) would be waiting for them tomorrow, then I'd go home. Extra day off Yipee! Unpaid yes, but I'm getting used to that.

I think the question is divorced from reality as we will NEVER see a strike by managers - they would be too scared of getting stabbed in the back by their colleagues.
I did hear there once was a srike by managers at Mount Pleasant - I think it was in the 70's. The postal staff came in, finished the work, and went home early.

To be honest, I don't know.

Our office is quite friendly and although some of the line managers are 'promoted' postmen which arguably should have remained postmen they do the best they can.
In theory I would cross the picket line because it isn't my strike - I don't expect a manager to stay on the picket line, for one thing being pally with people you are in charge of is really bad management.
On the other hand, I know them well and would support like them because I certainly don't 'hate' them.

I think that yes, I would cross their line. Firstly, it is their line and secondly my working without a manager could be to their advantage.

Not me... As Seniorman said. Postman came in done the work and went home.... JOB DONE... They know (screws) there jobs now are all just for the arselickers and real slags and hard nosed bastards that will stoop to any level to sack/get in bother/ bully/stress/threaten any postie doing the job.... And will do anything there senior screw tells them.. Its a "YES BOSS NO BOSS THREE BAGS FULL BOSS" Attitude that they think will keep there jobs... Such fools.. They think THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLE????????

Being a scab wouldn't bother me one bit. I am striking because I think it is right, not because of peer pressure - I left that behind years ago.
