LTB 699/10 - Lump Sum Trigger Points
LTB 699/10 - Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond – Lump Sum Trigger Points
TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS
Dear Colleague,
Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond – Lump Sum Trigger Points
Further to LTB 648/10 we are in a position to update Branches on trigger point issues.
Delivery Lump Sum Trigger Points – Phased introduction of revisions
Following some enquiries this week, Royal Mail has confirmed that the final £200 lump sum payment linked to the phased introduction of revisions will be paid immediately once the final phase has been implemented and is not linked to any other criteria. As previously stated whether or not local revisions are implemented on a phased basis is a matter for local discussion in line with the industrial relations framework.
Mail Centre Lump Sum Trigger Points
A number of units have now been paid out and the Union is currently awaiting further clarification that will ensure visible transparency of the new measures within all Mail Centres.
A meeting will be held with Royal Mail on the 19th August to progress all outstanding mail centre issues.
National Deployment Group Meeting
The National Deployment Group (NDG) met this week under the auspices of the independent facilitators and received reports covering the general progress of the business transformation agreement across all functions. From these reports it can be seen that both parties continue to move deployment forward. At national level we are working to improve the data that links all revision activity so that we can see where change is being successfully deployed alongside the introduction of the shorter working week and lump sum payments for employees.
Both parties continue to encourage positive engagement at all levels.
Any enquiries on Delivery trigger points should be directed to Bob Gibson, Outdoor Assistant Secretary. Enquiries on Mail Centre trigger points should be directed to Phil Browne Acting Assistant Secretary.
Yours sincerely,
Dave Ward Phil Browne Bob Gibson
Deputy General Secretary (P) Acting Assistant Secretary Assistant Secretary

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No revision yet but we have agreed to absorb more, so we are now absorbing four walks!
The payment of £1,000 (pro rata for part time employees) consisting of 3 lump sums will be paid as follows.
£200 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit on deployment of their first non walk sequencing revision.
£600 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit on deployment of the walk sequencing revision.
£200 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit when the Walk Sequencing revision has been implemented, and objectives achieved in line with the local agreement and no later than the end of the 6 week bedding in period.

we had a non walk sequenced revision lasy year.No 200 we are told that we will get the 200 with either the 600 or the last 200 when we have had the walk sequenced revision in january so why say "This is how the paymants are made" when royal mail just pay them whenever?

Revisions before the 2010 deal would not count for any of the lump sum payments. So what you are being told is correct.shepherdess wrote:we had a non walk sequenced revision lasy year.No 200 we are told that we will get the 200 with either the 600 or the last 200 when we have had the walk sequenced revision in january so why say "This is how the paymants are made" when royal mail just pay them whenever?

And just so everyone is clear, getting WSM's in your office doesn't trigger a bonus - only when you have a walk revision as well.

Fishtank, we are a small country sub do and one guy has retired and we now have to throw in that walk and it gets delivered by a new entrant on a 5 hour a day contract. Does that constitute a non walk sequence revision, and if so how do we go about claiming it, as we have not had a lino for months, previous one has gone on to planning. Never see a rep. Not interested in coming out to see us, just send a load of paperwork through about duty types, asking us to select a preference and send back signed. No wtll with management and union to discuss what this is all about, so we aint signing nothing until they do.

You need a rep on site Lincox...pure and simple otherwise your office will get sidelined,an afterthought on your area reps "to do" list and you can't let that happen.Lincox wrote:Fishtank, we are a small country sub do and one guy has retired and we now have to throw in that walk and it gets delivered by a new entrant on a 5 hour a day contract. ....and no you haven't had a revision, trust me you will know when that bomb drops.
.....good plan, stick to it.so we aint signing nothing until they do

A revision should start ASAP to introduce the 39 hour week and take account of the quicker sorting speed you achive with WSM.
You may be in a que to have a planner, however a bit of time to assess the day to day reality of WSM before changes are planned will not do any harm. Ignore the dosh and concentrate on getting the revision right first time.
