Managers leaving early, who polices the police?

Now I know a lot of people have mentioned that their managers go home early and seems to be a good source of humour. Since our jobs have been changed and we no longer have job and finish, why do management? Do RM further up the tree not care? Should they not be leading by example, a case of do as I do? If managers are able to put in part time hours and the ship still runs smoothly, should they not be making managers part time as they have done to delivery staff? I was trying to think of a worse case scenario where the absence of management late in the afternoon would be frowned upon. Are the upper heirarchy aware that managers and lino's take it in turns going home early, or don't bother to turn up sometimes? A manager is a prime candidate for cutting back to part time, surely.

There is part timers on the streets up till 4pm and 5pm in our delivery office, Managers are long gone home, if they had a accident or could not finish for some reason these poor kids have not a clue what to do, in fact they come back frightened, that frightened they won't book overtime.
No way any of these new part timers should be out on the street under NO supervision, if their bags was stolen or they were mugged the would not have a clue what to do, with the office shut and nobody to answer calls.
Same Saturdays years ago, managers gone home at 10 30 am nobody would answer phones or make decisions.
yet the Union let it get away.....

Last week, a rural lad wrote off his van, and suffered head injuries, after his wife gettin the message he was injured, she phoned REPEATEDLY our office, and NONE of the managers- about 5 o them , answered the phone, the wife got in her car and DROVE to the office to tell them what happened.F in disgusting

These lazy bar stewards are getin right on my tits, our phone could ring and ring and ring, and theyd walk right past it,wish there was somethin i could do about this.

to which i reply is that right because when they move our times and were not finished until 3pm saturday where are you going to be if i finish 3 so will you .

What possible aspect of their job (predominantly so called man-management) could be carried out at home while watching TV, bathing (sorry scrub that) picking their noses (possibly claiming overtime for it).

Well there is one major change at least in emphasis, they go from being one to scratching it when they get home.
