Great Deals from the Courier?

A fellow postie gave me the heads up on a recent deal from the Courier. It was a FREE audio book download (he knows that's what I listen to on delivery) Cut a long story short you pay per £7.99 month to receive ONE audiobook (Bit like the old book clubs) . At present I get them from the local library for about 60p a day, RIP them, BURN them, Return them. GREAT DEAL!

I don't read the Courier anymore because it's Management Propaganda, but at one time I did check out their "Special deals for RM employees" on line. I couldn't find one "Specially arranged rate!" that couldn't be beaten by a bit of research.

My question is has anyone actually found one of these fantastic deals that is worth the toilet paper it's written on?

My first question in response to great deal from the Courliar was "Where?!"

As I'm sure I've said before, when I worked for another company, they used Bringme which was great. It had 10% off companies like play.com and cdwow.com. You know, places you'd actually buy stuff from because they were small purchases and weren't big bucks.

They also had discounts on things like Alton Towers hotel.

IMO, they were GOOD deals. Deals you'd actually use and were useful.

The ones in Courliar are no good unless you're making a big purchase and even then, as you said, they can be beaten by shopping around.

good stuff employee card is english heritage membership card.
and you get reduced rates at esporta.

With the amount of employees we've got,ok ermmm we had,you would of thought companies would be falling over themselves to give us deals.

they are crap
my mrs worked for a hotel in her last job
they got the deals that were available to the council staff( as their hotel offered a discount to council employees)
they got a book with over 60 pages with discounts/freebies!
and it was proper stuff with big savings on some stuff

Yup, and if they are not approaching RM then I'd imagine there'd be a high take up of speculative enquiries made considering they would be getting free advertising in a magazine distributed across the UK to (almost) hundreds of thousands of people. Unless of course they charge for the advertising in the Courier because of that very reason. That'd explain the generic "offers".

any business can easily set it up
its a generic scheme with limited options on price and shops under RM

Yes it is suspended, HMRC have issued new guidelines and i think all C2W schemes will need adjustment, i think the scheme will come back but it may not be as beneficial.

Yes it is suspended, HMRC have issued new guidelines and i think all C2W schemes will need adjustment, i think the scheme will come back but it may not be as beneficial.

if the discount is reduced then i wouldnt be interested
the limitations on value and where to buy are too much
looking at that table
instead of paying approx £35 at the end of the payments it would be more like £90 on a £500 bike!

I bought a bike but some bugger delivered it to Africa!

Deal for English Heritage doesn't seem too bad, however the local places I want to visit are National Trust! Pity
