Dawn shift payment resolved

An ltb has come out which explains the union has now resolved this issue. Any individual who lost their. Dawn allowance when the supplement started will continue to recieve the supplement plus an extra reserved rights payment equal to the difference between the supplement and the Dawn shift payment. This payment will be pensionable.

To all those who believe they are better outside the union do you really think that these would have resolved without a union!

So why aren't they getting the full £23.55....only £11.18.
If only ESA1+2 went into the pot with the D2D money where is their other £12.37 going....the managers Christmas fund?

The same place as any other expired allowance, what we need is details of the overall CWU grade pay bill for RML and have it broken down by grade. This could be produced every year and released with half year and full year financial results.

No it means they will get the delivery supplement £20.60 plus £11.18 reserved rights payment rather than the delivery supplement £20.60 plus the dawn shift allowance £23.55 that they should get if Royal Mail had been held to the agreement.

oic so people who were getting the dawn shift allowance will now get a combined total of £31.78 rather than the £47.15 they were told they would get? I know it's more than some will be getting and well done to the union for getting something but if the agreement said those staff should have kept the £23.55 then why accpet anything less? Royal Mail are quick enough to quote the terms of the agreement when it's something they want but not so quick to honour the agreement if they dont like it.

Yes! Because it is a compromise as all the dealings for the past 5 years have been - dealing from a position of weakness does not produce results - any news on the London closures compromise yet?

and I thought you supported the free market principle where profit is best, a least the party you say you support does.

One of the natural effects of a free market system is reduction of costs (ie stop paying us for delivering D2Ds) and increasing productivity (ie removing the cap on D2Ds). Perhaps your not as much of a supporter of the Conservatives as you thought.
