RE: Temporary Contracts

Further to LTB 684 dated 6 August 2010 regarding the issue of temporary contract employees, a meeting was held today, Friday, 13 August 2010.

During the meeting management indicated that they had drafted guidelines for HR departments around the country to utilise when reviewing temporary contracts.
The business have agreed to share these guidelines with the CWU and have also agreed to provide data that will give us up to date information regarding temporary contract employees.

Meetings will continue next week, however in the meantime, branches are advised to continue adopting the advice given within LTB 684/10.

There you go with the new open relationship - they have to be brought to the table to explain their actions with regards to these contracts - and the talks go on, so what needs to be discussed

In regards to this matter I have found that the local reps got on to it WAY before HQ. It wasn't until the local reps told their divisional reps,(yonks ago come to think of it?).
By then the poor sods had letters given to them in some offices in which the local rep didn't have a clue........
