No More Overtime

No More Overtime

We were all told in the WTLL on tuesday that no more overtime payments can be made due to severe budget restraints.

Told Lino I would be going over yesterday and I would like to claim OT :Very Happy

Reply was that no overtime payments can be granted from now on. He tried to say that as I presumably finished early on tuesday I owed the business hours. Didnt have any of that...

Next he said it was complusory that I had to flex i.e i work over my time and come in later by that time the next morning. Told him i get a lift in and cant come in later. He said I would have to come in anyway and sit on my frame for the amount of time i went over. Bollocks to that I said.

He then said he would get my delivery bagged up when i was on my meal relief so i could go out 20 mins earlier. Told him i would be claiming more than 20 mins. He said I was just being awkward.

I asked him why he couldnt be reasonable and pay me OT for time worked. Answer was that there was no money available in the business to pay for it anymore. Apparently RM are totally skint and the Govnt are paying our wages at present...who knows.

As it happens I was just testing the water to see what they had to say about not paying overtime. Sure enough they were as ruthless as i thought.

Next week should be fun playing this flex game.

Got to absorb all week so ill be flexing 30 mins on that and 30+ mins on my own delivery. I make that an hour that I have to come in later each day. Now if everyone who had to absorb played the flexi game no IPS would get done. Great eh?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

our office would not run if people did no overtime and work days off , so if it stops s**t will hit the fan. no flex as they can not make you work past your time cut off.

Thats all well and good but there are plenty of people who cant stomach a daily confrontation with a line manager. Bullying isnt very nice when you get it every day.

the flexibility agreement means that they can expect you to work UPTO 30 MINUTES past your finish time and that you can start later the next day,but it is only to be used in emergencies and not every day so it can't be used against you in many siyuations.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????
you really couldn't make it up!!!!!!!!!!!
