High Capacity Trolley Thefts.

I have been told that High Capacity Trolley thefts are on the up, in a near by region to me three has been 3 stolen or broken into within the last week, our manager came around today and told the trolley dolly’s that you must not be away from your trolley more than 5 minutes, what can you do in 5 minutes?.
Plus the fact once the bikes are gone and its High Capacity Trolleys and these postman Pat cars theft is going to increase.
I think its scandalous the publics mail is been left out in the open highway in these trolleys, maybe the public should be aware of this, there is enough id in these trolleys to start accounts all over the country.
And that’s another thing manager said Special delivery’s must be on your body at all times, that’s not saying much for the security on the trolleys.
At back drops the bags was fairly safe, but because RM wants to safe money and won’t pay the bag drop people they will loose more than they gain this way….

And that is HCTs, the CDV trolleys are even less secure and can be left unattended for only 1 minute or less - now even I would be pushed to do anything twice in a minute

We have queried the H & S Rep about these trolleys, their security and the security of Specials - he's getting back to us - wonder if it is one of the 37 items on that agenda the dingo related. We are also querying the 40 minute as opposed to the 20 minute loop - he's getting back to us.

I thought 5 minutes was the minimum time (after risk assessment) up to 15 minutes for the maximum, as for the ones for the P&L they're about as much use in most of the areas I deliver as a chocolate fireguard (remember that night dvb ) with all hills and steps plus 40 minutes is too long for a loop (as I told the DOM) with 20 minutes being better (and safer with a bag on shoulder).

All this and in only 5 minutes I know, once I get cleaned up I'll head off to the naughty room

Probably the kids are nicking the HCT trolleys to use the wheels on their go-carts!

I find that when the kids are off school there's a lot more interest in the HCT.

Some lil buggers tried to wheel mine off once... and they would've gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for that pesky bicycle lock. And the fact they couldn't figure out how to get the brakes off
