They can't be part of the official picket line but they can support it. We had 8 official pickets on our line Saturday and 5 supporters from the SWP, oh and a drunk father Christmas lookalike but that's a different matter all together. Only dodgy ground would be if they were RM employees at a different site.madelin4 wrote:Hi, just a question if our partners /boyfriends girlfriends etc can join us on the picket line? or do u have to be a royal mail employee?![]()

Yeah there's nothing to stop individuals turning up and showing their support.

To answer the question, yes, members of the public can support picket lines, but they can not be official pickets. We have had supporters from Unison, PCS, UCU, Cambridge & District Trades Council and Repsect visiting our line. No one from the Labour Party though! Our Delivery Rep here at Cambridge DO has been dismissed (pending appeal) and so made it quite clear to the DOM on Saturday that he too is a member of the public!
I'm a Postman at the Henley Road Delivery Office in Cambridge.
