Re: Early Voluntary retirement?
No, but it's possible to get ill health retirement, which gets you a payout.

Re: Early Voluntary retirement?
With IHR there is no pension benefits at all if your given the lump sum option....Only if your given the pension option which is very rare....

Re: Early Voluntary retirement?
Recently, a girl in our office managed to get 11 and a half grand's worth of ill health retirement and she was 'only' an AG. I feel a trip coming onfishtank wrote:34 weeks pay...i think it's approx £11,500 for a full-time OPG.andy2007 wrote:No, but it's possible to get ill health retirement, which gets you a payout.

Re: Early Voluntary retirement?
I don't know how an AG managed to get £11,500 unless they have changed the rules on IHR.wiganpostie wrote: Recently, a girl in our office managed to get 11 and a half grand's worth of ill health retirement and she was 'only' an AG. I feel a trip coming on
12.7 Calculation and Payment of Lump Sum Payments
The pay to be used for calculating lump sum payments is the basic weekly or monthly wage/salary of the individual’s grade (i.e. the rate of pay that they would have been in receipt of but for sickness absence or leave purchase arrangements) on the date of retirement plus any personal reserved rights payment and geographical supplement (e.g. London/RRIS) where applicable. No other elements of ‘pay’ should be included. Confirmation of inclusive elements within basic pay is available from HR Services.

Re: Early Voluntary retirement?
Perhaps she was a 32hr AG...If you include the shares/leave and her notice period it would be about right....
