Letter to management for strike day 4
YOUR Lonely World …. There’s a Lot More Friendship on Our Side
Standing on the picket line you get to see things from a whole new perspective. Your smiling faces as you crossed us showed that you were confident of victory. On day two the smile was replaced with a toned down acknowledgement as you made your way across a 100% united group of workers. On day three your heads were down. Many of you who had previously stopped to take a leaflet or have a chat just drove straight through.
Now we reach day four and despite your peers very best efforts postal workers nationwide are still united. Can we say the same for management? NO!
We realise it must be a lonely world for managers on strike days. You pass people who you have known for many years, you agree with almost everything we are fighting for and secretly 99% would probably like to make a stand yourselves!
If this is the case then please write to CMA HQ and make your feelings known. The CMA really is the poor relations of the trade union movement. As you face job cuts, pension threats and the introduction of 100% flexibility what is your union doing about it?
Just think of where you’d rather be? - Inside the mail centre attempting to break the resolve of your colleagues or outside shoulder to shoulder with modern day history makers. In a world dominated by money, greed and big businesses this postal strike stands out like a sore thumb. In 10, 20 or even 50 years we will be able to tell our relatives that we stood up against and defeated Allan Leighton and Adam Crozier. What will you be able to say? – You can still do the right thing it is not too late!

thanks
Thanks guys
The object of the letters we hand out is not really to get them to join us. Thats mission impossible given that they've all had the spines surgically removed.
Its more to piss them off and to cause delay. 30 seconds talking to us on picket line = 30 seconds more backlog. If every MC in UK did this to every manager it would add up!!

To Managers
And you should remember what happened to the mining industry.
The overseers union/association - NACODS - wouldn't back the miners striking against pit closures. If they had the dispute would have been over quickly. As it was the miners were beaten and the pits were closed, and the NACODS members were thrown on the scrapheap too.

Re: To Managers
and still the miners have the knowledge that what they did was the right thing even if they did loose they went down fighting. Another comparison that holds is that the Nottinghamshire Miners who supported the coal board and formed their own union were sold out in the end.Seniorman wrote:And you should remember what happened to the mining industry.

I maybe wrong, but the CMA has not ballot the managers. And although managers future are in doubt, at this moment in time the managers have not been told to come in later, any real loss of jobs and their pay has not been talked about yet. If the managers walkout out now that would be against the law. Not feeling sorry for them just making a point.

Well I might be a little p*ssed off with the CWU sometimes but, what the hell are managers paying subs to the CMA for?although managers future are in doubt, at this moment in time the managers have not been told to come in later, any real loss of jobs and their pay has not been talked about yet. Surely the CMA can see that their members will suffer no matter what the outcome of the dispute. Why aren't they making noises?
Oooh I know this would require their members to respond and be responsible for their actions. RM managers don't take responsibilty.
