Couldn't believe my ears this morning. Another postie on my section took me to task for NOT doing my absorbtion (lapsing). He said I was taking the p*ss and needed to speed up! I regularly don't do my absorbtion on heavier days. I don't come in early, and I don't rush around. I do the job correctly. Simples

When will these idiots learn that the more they rush around, the more work they will do. The DOM must love them.

Any parts of absorbtion not covered are done by o/t volunteers, or if desperate, managers Usually, the p/t on the frame next to me does it, as the p/t's don't do any absorbtion on their 5hr days.

To me this is where Reps should start looking at the IWT thing, find out what traffic should be for your mean week, and then you have something to compare it to. This is what the new deal allows you to do, use the info thats there and play him at his own game, if he thinks it's light, but the figures don't show it, then you don't lapse, if it looks as though when you do lapse, again you look at the figures and say we need to adjust when lapsing can be done.

Don't just take a DOMs word for it, a Rep is now entitled to see all the figures etc, so use the agreement for your advantage.

I know I'll be chastised for using my car but I did my delivery and lapsing today and was finished for 12. It helps that because we do the lapsing, they let us out as early as possible.

I admire people for taking a stance when they're being put on, but sometimes I think some people just like to cut their own noses off to spite their face.

I know I'll be chastised for using my car but I did my delivery and lapsing today and was finished for 12. It helps that because we do the lapsing, they let us out as early as possible.

More like your duty is too small, light summer period and it still took me 5 1/2 hours to deliver today (and before you go off saying that I'm too slow, nobody on the duty can do it either) and this is the same for a majority of duties in my office - the result of a botched Pegasus revision.

Reading other peoples posts on here sometimes I do wonder about the size of my delivery. On a normal day it takes me just under 3hrs 30mins which is par isn't it?

Just out of interest,how many walks would youre van share be covering?

Van share should not be covering walks but be specifically designed to be van share duties (4hr15min) at least that's my understanding of it (not 2 duties bolted together) and my office has 'rurals' that are 1 person in 1 van taking a minimum of 5 hours to deliver a duty.

The walks vary in my office from 2.20 min up to 5 hrs and no one seems to care too much Mine took 4hr 20min today and then 25 min lapsing on top taking me right up to my time. I am not slow either and when iam off no bugger wants to touch it
