URGENT help needed for tomorrow

I am having a meeting tomorrow with royal mail and they want me to resign i cant afford to resign so sacking is the only option.........am i entitled to holiday pay owed to me and where do i stand getting money back from what ive put into the pension? they have said if they sack me i must pay back the money ive been paid while suspended can anyone help me and clear up these matters many thanks

First of all, I don't know whether you'll need to pay back any money. Although I seriously doubt it. It's more than likley a scare tactic, to get you to quit.

Secondly: If they are so sure that they have a valid reason to sack you, they wouldn't be asking you to resign. RM have never been afraid of sacking people. But they might be worried about you taking them to Tribunal for unfair dismissal, if they sack you. It's a lot less hassle, if you just quit. Because it's very hard to prove Constructive Dismissal (being forced to quit, due to unfair treatment).

I don't know what their reasons are for wanting you to go, so please don't just take my word for their motives. But it seems like the most likley explination, if they're giving you the option of quitting, before you're sacked. Are you in the Union?
If so, what does your Rep say about it?

If you're not in the Union, then I suggest you either join immediately (you can do this on-line), and get a Rep involved. Or get some legal advice ASAP!

How long you been with Royal Mail?

If more than a year then go to your docs today and blag yourself a sick note for 2 weeks minimum, 4 would be better, stress is a reasonable reason so use that if you can't think of anything else, this will buy you some time to join the union and speak to your rep, or preferably your area rep, get a plan of action sorted out to try and help the situation, if all else fails and they still want rid of you it will also buy you some paid time off to find another job.......or try to at least!

6 months full pay in any 12 month period so make the most of it!!!

You can only get the money you have paid into the pension fund if you have been doing so for less than 2 years otherwise it is frozen til retirement.
