Atos Question?

Hi All!!

I am a bit confused as to the way Atos work??

I went in for surgery on my foot back in April and have been off work ever since, my surgery can take 6 months to heal reasonably well and maybe 8-9 months for a full recovery.
About 3-4 weeks after my surgery my DOM was torturing me to sign Atos consent forms and after many sleepless nights i gave in and signed the forms thus giving my consent for a telephone consultation with one of their healthcare professionals

I recieved a call about a week later and had a chat with one of their nurses, he asked me all sorts of questions...height..weight..date i went into hospital..procedure i had done...blah blah blah
At the end of the call he says ok , i will give you a call back in 4-6 weeks to see how you are progressing, i said fine..can hardly wait

Today i recieved a call (over 7 weeks later) asking me to arrange for a telephone consultion with one of their nurses?? i say that i have already had one and they are supposed to be ringing me back to discuss my case further....oh erm was the response i recieved...then i was told...since its been more than 6 weeks your file has been closed and sent back to your DOM..WTF??? your DOM has asked us to open a new case....i honestly don't know what is up with this Atos company...can someone tell me that it is procedure to close a case after 6 weeks even when the Atos healthcare pfofessional knew how long my possible healing time would be?? Does my DOM not need me to sign the consent forms again since the last file was closed?

Now i have to go through the same crap all over again...same questions...blah blah balah....i'm glad i have been recording all my calls with Atos from day one (i have informed them of this)...all i can say is that monkeys could do a better job.

dont worry about them idiots they havent got a clue , just listen to what your doctor and specialist has said all there interested in is getting you back to work, i had the same with my knee op , i explained to them what i had done there aswer was ( havent heard of that one before) so i was off about 28 weeks and went back to work on socalled rehab + a stage 1 . hope you get sorted.

Ah the ole case has been closed routine.....how I miss it.
Every time your DOM has to arrange another referral they get another payment hence the we will have to close the case routine more money rolling in for them.

Hi there,

ATOS are only nurses who only no how to put plasters and bandages on

I have had several calls from them and they try there best to degrade you, stick with your gp and surgeons opinion f@@k them

Had another telephone assessment today with an Atos nurse, this assessment finished with him saying that he will have me in for a face to face assessment in 4 weeks...i said with a doctor?
He replied no with me...i said i would rather see a doctor...he says, i make that decision and i feel you don't need to see a doctor, i reply ...whats the point in seeing you when you don't know anything about my condition....he rudely replied...you don't need to see a doctor to assess your mobility and then he says goodbye??

Can someone advise me if i can insist on seeing a doctor or do i just have to accept the fact that i have to go face to face with this muppet.

I'd go along and call his bluff.
They have to discuss what they are sending to your DUMBO,this they do straight away by email as soon as the face to face is complete, you can argue with him if you think it's wrong and he should put it in the report back to your DUMBO,then make sure you get a copy off your DUMBO as Atossers have been known to write complete bullshit to suit their paymasters.
They MUST give you a copy if you request it...if your DUMBO says you can't see it for whatever reason send off a Data Protection request to Atossers.
If you disagree with the report and more importantly your doctor does too then you can refuse to go back to work.
It all then depends if your prepared to be bullied off Royal Mail or not, as they will threaten you with stopping your pay,make you go in for a `friendly` chat with your DUMBO so he can offer you some work to suit your illness and also get a weekly `courtesy` call off your friendly neighbourhood Lino as he's concerned for your well being.

Most people go back to work as it's far easier.
