non delivered walks?

whats the story on duties not being delivered i.e not enough cover if they are left in is the next person on duty obliged to take all of it 2 days worth?

you should do half a walk, and the other half should go out on docket, well that is what happens in my DO..

At our DO a walk is never left in. The uncovered walk is covered by either

1. Lapsing.
2. Docket.
3. Managers.

Although if it ever did happen, there is nothing really the duty holder can do except work to time and by the rules, or claim overtime. Although people are not happy, quite rightly, if this does happen we can still be expected to deliver up to their finishing time.

I think it would be difficult to get away with only doing half. It does not take twice as long to deliver two days worth of mail, although it does depend on whether the previous days mail has been preped or not. As has been said the best thing to do is just do what you can in your time and cut off or book OT for how ever much you go over.

the next person to go on that walk can be asked to deliver the mail but only up to their time, you don't have to work on, unless you want the overtime. Hope that helps
