I Delivered a Special Delivery yesterday at my mates house as he lives on my walk, I asked for the sticker off the envelope so I could track and trace it for curiosity, it has only just come on the system about a hour ago that is has been delivered.
Most of all it gave me a option to view the signature, so I decided to view it to find this message
Sorry, an electronic proof of delivery is not available for this item.
Now I am talking of a special delivery costing £5.05p.
Then our manager is hounding us we must have the E pod cards back in the cage with the phgs no later than 2pm, I had that card back yesterday at 1 40.pm.
Just shows its either a load of bull they are telling us or Royal Mail has the worse tracking system in Europe.
I asked my manager about this before he say’s it take a few days to go on. So much for technology at Royal Mail..
The special delivery’s are not secured as good as they used to be when I first started many moons ago.

The cards have to be posted to 'wherever' (Crewe I think) so it will take a while before the signature appears but because they are scanned in they are updated on the system, unless it's a PDA when all the information should be uploaded almost instantly.

Did you track it on the RM website? If you track it on the Intranet the Track & Trace on that is much more detailed and will give a full audit trail for the item. The RM website doesn't do this it will just give some very basic info either:
1: Not recognised.
2: Progressing through the network.
3: Delivered and depending on how long ago you should be able to view the signature.
As was said by DPG1 the cards have to be sent somewhere then they get fed into machines that photograph them and upload it to the RM website. Once your card is back in the cage the PHG will confirm it as delivered which updates the RM website accordingly then a few days later the signature should appear along with the time.
