So in our area missorts are suddenly not that important,what happened to the must connect policy or we fail the audit?Seems now we can get our missorts over an hour earlier than before 8am instead of 9,letting the runners resume job and finish.Does the CWU agree with this?if so why can we not start at 5am again,or is it just a simple ploy to trap runners into absorbing more!Heaven forfend I should think such a thing!

We were told today in WTLL by DOM that missort runs are now approx an hour earlier across the country to make the possibility of absorption more likely.

Royal Mail big wigs have asked for more walks to be collapsed and absorption to be a permanent fixture apparently.

Anyway back on topic, in our office they have cancelled missorts on a monday and tuesday indefinitley...Yes i hear you say ,for more lapsing , yes i say , you know and i know but tell that to the rest of our office..it was nearly empty by 8.45 today...will they ever feckin learn....

My thoughts...

Now i hate the misssort run,and yes it's a pain having to wait around for it,tuesdays it's very silly.

But what you have to look at is this,if you were allowed to go and the run was scrapped,add all the hrs up of waiting time in your office and think what they could get you to do in those hrs.

The missort run is like our old friend D2D's,we f***ing hate them but if they were to totally disappear........................

Think ahead,demand to get it back! USO,company fine,PostCon,customer service,yadda yadda...

Lapsing seems to be the norm even in our mail centre .They asked staff to take leave a few weeks ago because of the estimated traffic being low and what do they try and do Bring in frigging casuals? .I`m now off for 2 weeks and theres no way they will cover my duty so why should i worry .OVER THIRTY YEARS SERVICE I WAS PROUD TO DO MY JOB WTF SHOULD I BOTHER ANY MORE

We still have job and finish, we lapse 1 walk (georoute said 0 hours out, but in reality we have plenty of time so we do it) between 10 and it's the easiest walk in the office.

Manager said today as long as we're honest about collapsing (ie not taking it, when you really have time) then he doesn't care what time we finish and he won't penalise anyone that wants to work quickly and finish early. I'm sure some on here will say that's some kind of trap, but he's said it for years and our office has always run really well.

Some offices just get bent over time after time and say nothing.

I saw the proposed CDV walks for our office today (a few different ones based on different attendance patterns) and they look spot on to me - our georoute planner should be in every office by the looks of it. Job and finish will go, of course it will, but so what.

can he plan our office please As its obvious if you have a 2 1/2 2 3/4 hr delivery then 15 minute phase 3 you,re no going to say owt if you leave the POW camp sorry office 45 minutes before dispatch time ... Cannot wait for the day to arrive when everyone in the office works the full contracted hours ! In for a shock some - most that have ruined the job

whats the point of pegasus working out the length of a route?
if everyday a manager can just add a bit of another job.
surely if it was official everyday it would have to be classed as workload .

unless it is classed as workload then nobody should regard it as workload.
whats the difference? your round is timed to fit your day, absorption is possible only if
on a light day you have spare time to absorb.
