Police Interceptors last night (Channel 5 8pm) stop a suspicious looking bloke coming out of a gate. Follows the car down the street and it turns out to be a postie with a boot full of mail. It also turns out he's disqualified from driving and doesn't have business use insurance on his car. Chumpster gets nicked for both offences and has to empty the mail out on to the pavement whilst his car is seized by the Police. No voice over saying 'It was found that he was covered by Royal Mail's insurance', just BOSH! you're nicked!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. Exactly. The bloke had no insurance full stop, it bares no similarities to someone like me who's car is legal, checked, declared to RM AND covered by an insurance policy that DOES cover carrying mail despite what some of the no-nothings on here say.
I'll stop using my car when I get my RM van, not when some mentalist on here tells me to.

Your delivery obviously doesn't need a van or it would have one, or are you saying you are doing a van round in your own car at your own expense? What you are saying in reality is it suits you to use your car - NOT that it is necessary.
Watched it last night and did you see the amount of bags with probably mail in them left on the street beside him lol...i think if i remember correctly that he didn't have insurance on any car he had for 13 years...the police are a bit slow on that one for letting it go for so long.
I don't think he'll want the car back as it won't be worth very much.
I guess thats the way to cheat around the car insurance business is by buying a banger, so if you get caught by the police then your not going to bother about the car because its worthless.
Think you'll find they can do him for no insurance AND disqual.
BTW OnAFlyer....................have you checked with your insurance company that they will accept RM's cover?? Might be worth a call BEFORE you get a tug by the old bill as I didn't see them bailing this guy out, disqual or not..............

The police say he had insurance but not business insurance. So that would have been driving without insurance on its own - nevermind no MOT and the stuff about the licence which hadn't been surrendered.

No my delivery was/is still a van duty(the floaters still use a van) as it's one of the farthest out and semi rural,when I had my illness I could no longer drive a RM van as it has not been adapted like my car has for my disability it was agreed with Access to Work and the Disability Helpline that I should use my own car as part of a reasonable adjustment as it was already fitted out, and that RM would later provide a suitable van after obtaining funding from Access to work,if you can't see why it's necessary why I use it then thats your look out,or do you expect me to NOT do my job at all saying that RM won't give me an indoor duty as the DOM is busy making `office savings?`
Maybe they should give me a duty near to the office and use one of them high capacity trolleys,oh yes I can't use them either

Sigh.....the fuel is paid off Access to work,insurance is paid by me but would have been anyway,as for trying to get a more suitable duty..I have been in and out of the office on `light duties` for the past 9 months(one week on 4 occasions ),DOM won't give me a fixed indoor duty as he is getting rid of indoor work for `office savings...`Stage 3 grievance in,ET in,Seen Atossers face to face 4 times now and still sweet F.A.
The only good thing is Park and Loop is around the corner and I can then become a non driver in a dynamic duo of crapness with some other worker who can still drive with a disability as they like to keep the cripps together incase we might take to much medication and go postal.
Think I'm the only bloke who's looking forward to it(well sort of ).

You see I have some difficulty in believing this would include making modifications to a vehicle, changing workplace, changing a duty but changing a duty vehicle? I don't think so - it could possibly render it useless for other users depending on the modification.
