workplace coach

[trouble]

Hello 1 of the girls in our office is looking to apply for workplace coach.
She is only part time, 20 hrs and has been told the pay is pro rata only £15 odds a week by both the Dom and RM helpdesk.
As the rep I can find no documentation to back this up, everything mentions £30 a week.

Is the manager and RM taking the piss, they reckon all extras or payments, or bonuses what ever are pro rata for part timers end off.
Is this true?
Can someone back this up and let me know what is right many thanks confused new rep.

Also that same agreement says

9. Allowance
In recognition of the skills, flexibility and commitment that Coaches will be expected
to demonstrate and maintain, an allowance will be paid.
9.1 On appointment each Coach will receive a weekly pensionable assigned
allowance of £30, regardless of the level of coaching activity that they are
required to provide.
9.2 The allowance will be increased in line with future Royal Mail pay settlements
from April 2007.
9.3 Where an employee decides they do not wish to continue in their coaching
role they should inform the manager immediately so that an appropriate
replacement can be found. They will however be required to continue until the
replacement has been selected and fully trained.
9.4 On return to normal duties the Coaching allowance will cease

However as PT would she have the full set of skills needed. For instance, IPS, IPS testing, Packets etc.

plenty of FT coaches dont!

Our one is a diamond.

He trains all the new entrants on the walks they will be doing AFAIK. I think he also does the duty before to make sure he knows it and he keeps in contact with them after the training period to make sure they are OK.

That is what you need from a workplace coach. If they were all like that the system would work well. Unfortunately .......
£30/week isn't a lot for that level of commitment. It certainly isn't worth doing for less unless you want to have something extra on your CV when applying for another job involving training......

I am still wondering who the feck our work place coach is after 7 months. I am guessing we havnt got one although someone is bound to be trousering the 30 quid a week I imagine...Still waiting for even two minutes training not that I will hold my breath Career opportunity,,the one that never knocked....

Work place coach ? What a laugh ! I did that years ago for quite a while. Helped new entrants with delivery training, helped them on the IPS and on the outward sorting.
When it came to me getting paid for my time and effort, it was always tomorrow ! In the end just packed it in. Now new entrants are lucky to get any training, apart from " there's the mail , get on with it "
Ps a big thanks to Billy and Dave for all their efforts over the last year. What would we do without you !

our wpc's are all drivers and the new entrants get trained by the rest of us for which we get the training allowance

the wpc's presumably get £30 a week for nothing
