So how are you going to deal with the increasing volume of mail, because thats what it is now, not the so called d2d that some of the doms keep on telling us.
In a previous post i mentioned that 4 d2d is the most i can handle, but this also depends on what other mail comes into the office aswell. It takes me roughly 20 minutes to prep 4 d2d and this is based on an average call rate of 600. Of course more d2d to prep will mean more work indoors, which could lead to less out door work. It makes sense, but personally i don't think the doms will see this as sense and will push everything at us, like the lapsing. In some offices this is probably happening right now!
On monday i will do the d2d (prep & deliver) and every other day, even if it is busy. It just means i won't be doing any lapsing...and worst case scenario leave a street or two as well on my own duty.
Leaving the office today i seen one postie on his frame prepping up his 5 d2d for next week...never questioned on why he was doing it out of his contracted hours, but i guess some old habits never fade away
