I've been with RM for 3 weeks now. At my interview the DOM asked me if I'd booked any holiday. I told him the dates and these were confirmed with h.r when they called me with start details etc. My DOM says he will honour the leave but it will be unpaid as I haven't been there long enough.
I can't afford to lose 2 weeks money so have cancelled my leave but can't help feeling I've been shafted. Has my DOM given me accurate info?

I believe you have to be with RM for a certain period of time before you qualify for holiday pay, 6 months or a year I think? I guess this is because you could start one week, then go on holiday for a month with pay and never return!

You accrue holiday pay just like at any other job, 2 weeks leave would take you just under 6 months to accrue, so you wouldn't get it as paid until that 6 months was up, you joined in early July so you missed April, May and June so your entitlement for this year will be 3/4 of normal entitlement, so 17 days or thereabouts.
You'll roughtly be at RM this year for 270 days so every 270/17 days which = 15.9..............so every 15.9 days you work you will accrue 1 day off, you've been at RM for 3 weeks so that's 21 days, so you have so far accrued just over 1 days leave.

So by taking a 2 week holiday now you could only expect to be paid for 1 of the days of your leave meaning the other days would have to be unpaid...........otherwise as another poster states you could start, have a month off paid and not come back, which I understand used to happen, RM got wise and changed the policy....can't balme them can you!
