our union rep was a meeting yesterday and was told there s jobs to go 5 in Dumfries :sad:

Are these compulsory redundancy, EVR, voluntary redundancy, terminating fixed term contracts or just sacking full timers?

How would they know how many to go if you haven't started a revision yet,or have you?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

up to 12 in carlisle.all evr's.1st choice goes to processing then if not enough taken up there it will go to distribution.lucky sods-wish it was me but it is going on seniority and that puts me well down the list.the early shift is going completely in processing so i'm buggered and will have to do nights or days.can't stand either.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????

I can't speak for the rest of the country but it seems that on the West Coast of Scotland, RM managers have decided the number of jobs that need to go before any revision activity.
A lot of these offices will now be self-starter revisions due to a lack of planners. The unions insistence that these revisions should be IWT led may or may not amount to the same thing.
And there is also a number of DOs to close/amalmgamate but no information as to which ones yet.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
