A fall on duty leads to a Stage Warning

A colleague had a fall at work,he took a few days off to recover.At the welcome back to work meeting,he was told that he will be receiving a Blame Worthy,this will lead to a Stage warning due to his sick record.Surly not?

How have they proved it was blame worthy? Did he jump out into moving traffic or something?

My AOD was down to cr*p RM footwear. Even when I told them what happened, nothing which would put my at fault, my Lino (the one I had the problem with) still kept writing the statement down as if I was to blame.

Anyway, regardless of how/what happened, tell the DWP about the incident as mine was recording as an Industrial Accident and so if I have any problems at a later date as a result of it, I can claim or whatever.

Looks like he has had time off before and the fall and has triggered the stage warning. Really he should have went home after the fall and returned next day, that would not have counted. if anyone is in work for 3 and half hours then decide to go sick it does not count at all. we have some posties that know every little detail.
One manager told me once you can go on holiday while on the sick, I said " I don't think so" Manager said "Rehabilitation Yes"

Bollocks mate. They tried it with me the once when my back completly went on my walk, the doc told me 2 weeks rest and put me on some strong pain killers. I told the gaffer he was fine about it and said return when your ready. After a week i was fine, i told the doc and also told the gaffer as i aint work shy that i felt i was ready to go back but he doc said no, take another week. The gaffer told me to listen to the docs instructions and take the other week off.

Anyways back to work, the gaffer tried to put me on a stage, i went in with the rep and told him to try it and i'll take you to court as it was an industrial accident,done at work and i should not be punished for that, he backtracked and s**t out and said it just triggered a stage but he was'nt going to give me one,f***ing too right you aint.

Cant believe some of the s**t RM try and get away with. If it was work related and he sought docs advice then theres fook all they can do about it, if they do get acas involved.

Might be going slightly off topic here but my back went while on duty managed to get back to the DO and the manager filled in the Erica report while I was trying to get my breath back,anyway it turned out I'd slipped a disc and was off for 4 months, had pyhsio through RM and went back on light duties about 10 weeks ago. I'm now back on full delivery but I have not had a return to work interview and at the time I was on a stage 1 and was expecting at least a stage interview but that up tp now has'nt happened, is there a time limit on these things or can they just bring them when they want.

Otherwise we would all be working 3 and a half hour shifts.

It's if you have done at over half your shift or summin like that.I've done it before.
You could get away with it once or twice,but you begin to take the piss then the obvious is inevitable

They've forgotten it,best you do as well.

I know someone who got bit by a dog while on duty, manager took him to hospital, needed stitches, had a fews days off and.... you've guessed it, counted towards a stage warning.

Its simple really, if your manager likes you,! you dont get a stage, if he dislikes you, you will end of story!!
